A&N Voters Warned Against OTP Fraud Amid Ongoing SIR of Electoral Rolls

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls is currently underway in 12 States and Union Territories, including the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Andaman & Nicobar Islands has informed electors that the Office of the CEO, the District Election Officer, the Electoral Registration Officer, the Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) do not ask for any OTPs from electors for any work related to the SIR. It has been clarified that all BLO verification activities are conducted strictly through door-to-door visits or through officially prescribed forms and procedures as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.

Citizens have been strongly advised not to share any OTP or personal details with unknown callers and to remain vigilant against such fraudulent activities.

In case any elector receives a suspicious call or message asking for OTP in the name of BLO, for SIR verification, they are requested to immediately report the matter to the nearest Police Station, call the Voter Helpline 1950 or inform the nearest Assistant Electoral Registration Office.
