State-Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation Held in Sri Vijaya Puram

NTPC, on behalf of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, organized a State-Level Painting Competition on ‘Energy Conservation’ as part of Mission LiFE, which promotes sustainable and responsible consumption practices. The initiative aims to encourage young minds to express their creativity while raising awareness about the importance of conserving energy.

The competition was conducted in two phases, beginning at the school level for students of Class V to VII (Group A) and Class VIII to X (Group B). Around 328 schools across the Andaman & Nicobar Islands participated, with over 3,000 students submitting their artwork. From these, 50 students from each category were shortlisted for the State-Level round held on November 20, 2025, at Marine Community Hall, Mohanpura, Sri Vijaya Puram.

Mr. Vikram Singh, Director (Education), graced the event as Chief Guest and presented awards to the winners. He was accompanied by Ms. Rizwana, Executive Engineer, Electricity Department, and Mr. Dharmendra Kumar, Nodal Officer / Additional General Manager, NTPC.

In Group A, the winners were:

First Prize: P. Samreen Siddique (Carmel Senior Secondary School)
Second Prize: Kyna Haldar (Navy Children School)
Third Prize: Vinaya Krishnan (RGT Public Vidyalaya)

In Group B, the winners included:
First Prize: Trisha Mondal (Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya)
Second Prize: Sherin Sanju (St. Mary’s School)
Third Prize: Anushree Das (Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School)

The first, second, and third prize winners were awarded cash prizes of ₹50,000, ₹30,000, and ₹20,000 respectively. Additionally, 20 students received consolation prizes of ₹7,500 each.

The top three winners from both categories will be invited to New Delhi to participate in the National Level Painting Competition scheduled for the second week of December 2025, a press release said.
