The Chief Electoral Officer of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Mr. L. Kumar, IAS, has announced that the Election Commission of India has revised the schedule for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls in 12 States and Union Territories, including the A&N Islands. The updated schedule replaces the earlier notification issued on October 27, 2025.
According to the revised schedule, the enumeration period has now been extended to December 11, 2025, offering electors additional time to complete and submit the Enumeration Forms. The Draft Electoral Rolls will be published on December 16, 2025, followed by the claims and objections period from December 16, 2025, to January 15, 2026. The notice phase, including issuance, hearings, and verification, will continue from December 16, 2025 until February 7, 2026. The final Electoral Rolls are scheduled to be published on February 14, 2026.
Mr. Kumar urged all eligible electors who have received the Enumeration Forms from Booth Level Officers to submit them before the revised deadline. He cautioned that individuals who fail to submit their forms by December 11 will not find their names in the Draft Electoral Roll to be published later in the month.
Emphasizing the importance of the process, the CEO stated that the ongoing enumeration is critical to ensuring the accuracy, inclusiveness, and integrity of the voter database. He encouraged voters to avoid last-minute submission and to participate actively in strengthening the democratic process.
Political parties and eligible electors have been requested to extend full cooperation during the revision exercise by submitting their forms either to the Booth Level Officers or through help desks available at the District Election Office (DEO) or Assistant Electoral Registration Office (AERO).
For assistance or clarification, electors may reach out to their Booth Level Officers or contact the voter helpline at 1950.
