Awareness Programme on Women’s Welfare Schemes, Cyber Laws Held at Kamaraj School

The One Stop Centre under the Directorate of Social Welfare, in collaboration with the District Hub for Empowerment of Women, conducted an awareness programme on women-centric welfare schemes, legal protections, and cyber laws at Kamaraj School, Brookshabad.

Ms. Rukhsar Rahim, Para Legal Lawyer from the One Stop Centre, addressed the gathering and sensitized students on different forms of cybercrimes and the importance of online safety. She also shared key emergency contact numbers including the Women Helpline (181), Child Helpline (1098), Cybercrime Helpline (1930), and the One Stop Centre contact number (03192-234221).

Ms. Jyoti, Sub-Inspector, delivered a session on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, outlining its major provisions and legal safeguards designed to protect minors from abuse and exploitation.

Earlier, the Principal, Ms. Beena, welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of such awareness initiatives in empowering students and ensuring their safety.

The programme aimed to enhance legal literacy and encourage reporting of crimes, especially those affecting women and children.
