The Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency convened a meeting on 5 December 2025 with representatives of all recognized political parties to review the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral Roll.

The ERO briefed participants on the revision schedule, procedures, and Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines, emphasising the need for transparency and coordinated efforts. Expressing concern over a large number of uncollected Enumeration Forms (EFs), the ERO shared the tentative list of untraceable, absent, permanently shifted, deceased and already-enrolled electors across all three tehsils of South Andaman District.

Political parties were urged to sensitise their Booth Level Agents (BLAs) and ensure closer coordination with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) for timely resolution of pending forms. The ERO cautioned that unresolved Address Shift, Death, and Duplicate (ASDD) entries may lead to deletion of names in the Draft Electoral Roll to be published on 16 December 2025.

Party representatives provided feedback, assured full cooperation, and agreed to take prompt action, reaffirming their commitment to a smooth and accurate revision process. (Story Based on PR)
