The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Mr. L. Kumar, IAS, has announced that the Enumeration Phase of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll will conclude on 11 December 2025. The CEO has called upon electors and political parties to actively verify entries marked under the ‘uncollectable’ category to ensure accuracy in the upcoming draft roll.

According to the CEO, a total of 66,028 electors have been listed as uncollectable during the enumeration exercise. This includes 9,172 electors reported deceased, 30,172 marked as untraceable or absent, and 23,137 who have permanently shifted. Additionally, 2,842 electors were found to be duplicate or already enrolled elsewhere, while 705 names fall under the ‘others’ category. These uncollectable entries account for 21.27% of all Enumeration Forms distributed.

To facilitate verification, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) across polling stations are holding meetings with Booth Level Agents (BLAs) and sharing the station-wise uncollectable lists. In polling stations where no BLAs have been appointed by recognized political parties, the lists are being displayed publicly for citizens to check. Photographs of BLO–BLA meetings and the detailed uncollectable lists will be uploaded on the CEO’s official website as well as those of the respective district administrations.

At the higher level, the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) and Assistant EROs have also met with representatives of recognized political parties and shared the consolidated uncollectable lists for verification.

The CEO has appealed to all political parties and electors to review the lists without delay. Electors whose names appear under the uncollectable category but who are available or traceable are urged to immediately contact the concerned BLOs or visit the offices of the AEROs, ERO, or DEO. They may also call the voter helpline 1950 before 11 December 2025 to ensure their names are included in the Draft Electoral Roll, scheduled for publication on 16 December 2025.

Those whose names do not appear in the draft roll published on 16 December may submit Form-6 along with the mandatory declaration during the claims and objections period from 16 December 2025 to 15 January 2026.

Mr. Kumar extended his gratitude to the electors, political parties, and Booth Level Agents for their cooperation and support throughout the Special Intensive Revision process. (Story Based on PR)
