Agriculture Dept Launches Online Registration & Doorstep Collection for Procurement of Spices, Honey Under ‘Dweep Sugandh’

The Department of Agriculture, A&N Administration has rolled out a new Online Registration and Doorstep Collection facility for spices and honey under its Dweep Sugandh initiative, offering local farmers and beekeepers a convenient channel for direct sale of their produce for a limited period.

According to a press release, the scheme is designed to ensure transparent procurement, strengthen market access and guarantee fair prices for growers across the Islands. The Department will purchase true cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, mace, black pepper, bay leaf and honey directly from registered farmers and beekeepers at fixed departmental rates.

The notified procurement rates are:
Black Pepper – ₹2,000/kg
Bay Leaf/Tejpatta – ₹1,300/kg
Cinnamon Quills – ₹2,000/kg
Clove – ₹2,000/kg
Mace – ₹2,500/kg
Nutmeg – ₹15 per piece
Honey – ₹1,100/kg

Officials noted that registration is fully online and free of cost, and on completion, the Department will arrange doorstep collection of the produce, eliminating transport hurdles for farmers, beekeepers and SHGs.

Producers interested in participating can register at the portal: agri.andamannicobar.gov.in/farmer.
