Late this night a drunk driver driving a Ford Freestyle car hit a parked Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza at Phoenix Bay, Port Blair near Cut Studio Saloon. No serious injury to the drunk driver or any other person has been reported yet.

The parked Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza suffered multiple damages in the accident. The Vitara Brezza also moved from its parking place due to the impact and hit a Hero Splendor bike parked in front of it.

The Ford Freestyle car being driven by the drunk driver reportedly rolled before coming to a halt.

As per the last update received Police had reached the accident site.

The locals of the area also gathered at the accident site and helped remove the badly damaged Ford Freestyle Car which had blocked the main road after the accident.

The DGP of Andaman and Nicobar Islands has time and again shared the news of drunk drivers being arrested and the action taken against them, but it seems alcohol reigns over all deterrents and the fear of the law.

Driving under an intoxicated state can prove to be very dangerous for drunk drivers as well as for the safety of other people on road. Andaman and Nicobar Police has done a great job in assuring that drunk drivers stay out of the roads, but more needs to be done in terms of educating people on the dangers they are putting themselves when they drive under the influence of alcohol.
