Training on Anemia Mukt Bharat Held for ANMs and CHOs at Junglighat Ayush Hospital

A one-day training programme on Anemia Mukt Bharat was organised for Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) and Community Health Officers (CHOs) on December 29 and 30, 2025, at the Conference Hall of AYUSH Hospital, Junglighat, with the objective of strengthening efforts to combat anaemia among children, adolescents, women, and pregnant mothers.

The training focused on improving nutritional practices, promoting iron-rich diets, and ensuring the effective provision of iron and folic acid supplements as key strategies to reduce the prevalence of anaemia in the community.

The programme was graced by Dr. H.M. Siddaraju, Director of Health Services, Dr. B. Ajit Kumar, Link Officer and Deputy Director (Family Welfare), and Dr. Kalyan P. Kadhbane, Deputy Director (AYUSH). Addressing the participants, the Director of Health Services emphasized the need to intensify awareness through T3 (Test, Treat and Talk) camps at schools, Anganwadi centres, and at the community level to ensure early identification and timely management of anaemia.

The technical sessions were conducted by Dr. Bhawani Prasad S.M., Assistant Professor (Medicine), ANIIMS, Dr. Mitul Saha, Senior Resident, Community Medicine, ANIIMS, and Dr. Rohit, State Nodal Officer, UNDP, who served as resource persons and shared practical insights on screening, diagnosis, treatment protocols, and community-based interventions.

Altogether, 55 healthcare personnel, including 30 ANMs and 25 CHOs from various health institutions, participated in the training, which aimed at enhancing their capacity to effectively implement the Anemia Mukt Bharat programme at the grassroots level across the Islands.
