All fishers, fish farmers, fish workers, fish vendors, Fisheries Development Corporations, Self Help Groups (SHGs), Joint Liability Groups (JLGs) in the Fisheries Sector, Fisheries Co-operatives, Fisheries Federations, Fish Farmer Producer Organizations (FFPOs), and persons engaged in fisheries and allied activities under South Andaman District have been requested to register their names on the National Fisheries Development Platform (NFDP) of the National Fisheries Development Board to avail coverage under the Group Accident Insurance Scheme (GAIS).
The insurance scheme is being implemented under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) to provide accident insurance coverage to stakeholders associated with the fisheries sector.
Eligible beneficiaries may approach their nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) for registration on the NFDP portal (https://nfdp.dof.gov.in/nfdp/) or may also contact Fishery Officers and Station In-charges of their respective areas, Fisheries Sub-Stations under South Andaman District, or the Zonal Fisheries Office for registration and further assistance.
The Fisheries Department has urged all eligible individuals and entities to complete their registration at the earliest to ensure coverage under the Group Accident Insurance Scheme and to avail benefits linked with the NFDP platform.
