Department of Science & Technology Celebrates Foundation Day at DBRAIT; Certificates Awarded to Implant Training Students

Department of Science and Technology (DST), Andaman and Nicobar Administration marked its Foundation Day with enthusiasm, coinciding with the certificate distribution ceremony of the Winter Vacation Implant Training Programme for B.Tech Civil Engineering first and second year students.

The professional implant training programme was organized under the aegis of the Department of Science & Technology in collaboration with the Andaman & Nicobar Pollution Control Committee (ANPCC). The initiative aimed at providing hands-on practical exposure to students in key areas of Environmental Engineering, thereby strengthening the link between classroom learning and real-world applications.

During the training, students were exposed to critical domains including water quality testing, air quality monitoring, municipal solid waste management, and the management of plastic and other wastes in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The programme enabled participants to gain practical insights into environmental challenges and regulatory practices relevant to the region.

The training programme was made possible through the efforts of Shri P. Umamaheshwara Rao, Environmental Engineer, ANPCC, under the guidance of Dr. Jatinder Sohal, Director, Department of Science & Technology and Member Secretary, ANPCC. Their vision and support played a crucial role in ensuring meaningful professional exposure for the students.

Throughout the programme, students were guided and mentored by Mr. Altamash Mustafa, Assistant Professor (Civil), Training and Placement Coordinator, and Associate Dean (IQAC), DBRAIT, who coordinated the training and ensured its academic relevance and successful execution.

The event concluded with the distribution of training completion certificates to the participating students. The programme was conducted with the full support of the Head of the Department, B.Tech Civil Engineering, and the Principal of DBRAIT, reaffirming the institute’s commitment to skill-based learning, environmental awareness, and holistic technical education.
