National Workshop on Procurement & Marketing Support Held in Sri Vijaya Puram

The Branch MSME–Development & Facilitation Office (DFO), Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of India, organized a one-day National Workshop on Procurement & Marketing Support on February 3, 2026, at Hotel Lemon Tree, Sri Vijaya Puram.

The workshop witnessed the participation of around 130 participants, including MSME entrepreneurs, Self-Help Group (SHG) members and other key stakeholders from across the islands.

The primary objective of the programme was to create awareness about the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), Bar Code Registration, the Procurement & Marketing Support (PMS) Scheme, and various other MSME schemes aimed at improving market access and enhancing the competitiveness of micro, small and medium enterprises.

Mr. G.K. Sinha, Assistant Director In-charge, Branch MSME–DFO, Sri Vijaya Puram, delivered the welcome address and presented the theme of the workshop, highlighting the importance of leveraging government platforms and schemes for sustainable growth of MSMEs.

The technical session featured expert presentations on GeM, Bar Code Registration, the PMS Scheme and other MSME-related initiatives, delivered by Mr. Tanuj of the Branch MSME–DFO. The session was followed by an interactive Open House question-and-answer segment, during which participants sought clarifications and shared their experiences regarding procurement and marketing challenges.

The workshop concluded on a constructive note, equipping participants with practical knowledge to better access government procurement opportunities and expand their market reach.
