Licence Mela Cum Road Safety Awareness Camp at Campbell Bay Draws Huge Response

Two-day ‘Licence Mela Cum Road Safety Awareness Camp’ is being organised by the Transport Department in association with the District Administration at Campbell Bay from 13th October 2021. The camp drew a huge response from the residents of Great Nicobar Island who turned up in large numbers to avail various services offered by the Transport Department.

The Assistant Commissioner, Campbell Bay, Block Development Officer, Campbell Bay and Mr. Abdul Salam, Motor Vehicle Inspector, Transport Department, Car Nicobar and Mr. Gaurav Banerjee, Sub-Inspector, PS Campbell Bay were present during the inauguration of the camp. 

The Assistant Commissioner, Campbell Bay encouraged the participants to take maximum benefit of the camp as well as requested them to learn from the awareness camp. He urged the participants to abide by COVID norms and protocols.

The Block Development Officer, Campbell Bay also requested the participants to take maximum benefit from the camp.

During the awareness session Mr. Gaurav Banerjee, Sub-Inspector, PS Campbell Bay informed the participants about the various rules and regulations and the intent behind them. He urged the participants to abide by all rules and regulations and also shared tips to stay safe on road.

Mr. Abdul Salam, MVI, Transport Department, Car Nicobar explained the various hand signals which are to be used while driving vehicles. He also demonstrated the correct way of displaying the hand signals. 

Arrangements were made for issuing Learner’s Licence to the desirous participants for which all the required facilities were made available in the camp. The medical certificate required for the issue of Learner’s Licence was also made available in-house in the camp.

A large number of participants were seen participating in the Licence Mela cum Road Safety Awareness Camp.
