Member of Parliament Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray today met Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Union Minister of Education, and apprised him of the demands of students regarding the cancellation of the Deemed University status.
During the meeting, the MP conveyed the concerns raised by students and sought the Centre’s intervention in the matter. The Hon’ble Education Minister gave a patient hearing and assured that the issue, being a policy decision of the Government of India, would be examined.
The Minister further informed that the matter would be taken up with the Ministry of Home Affairs and placed before the Hon’ble Prime Minister for review and appropriate consideration.
Mr. Ray is also scheduled to meet the Hon’ble Union Home Minister shortly to further pursue the issue.
