A CSR support programme for children residing in Child Care Institutions (CCIs) was organised by the State Child Protection Society (SCPS), Directorate of Social Welfare, in collaboration with Oil India Limited, reinforcing their commitment to child welfare and development.
The joint initiative, launched in 2023, aims to strengthen infrastructure and enhance educational facilities in care institutions. Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Oil India Limited has been extending consistent support. In the earlier phase, water purifiers and smart TVs were provided to all CCIs to ensure safe drinking water and improved access to educational content. Continuing the programme, computers, printers and projectors have now been distributed to promote digital learning and skill development among children.
The Nodal Officer of the Mission Vatsalya scheme underscored the importance of coordinated efforts between the government and corporate sector in strengthening child protection services. Director of Social Welfare, Mr. Ravinder Kumar, said the support has significantly improved facilities in CCIs and reaffirmed the department’s commitment to quality care and education. General Manager of Oil India Limited, Mr. Arindam Bardoloi, assured continued support. Cultural performances were presented by children of Balika Niketan and Love Children Home.
