The Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, has proposed a nationwide Special Registration Campaign in a phased manner for enrolment under the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) and National Pension Scheme for Traders and Self-Employed Persons (NPS-Traders) schemes.

Accordingly, the Labour Department will organise a Spot Registration Camp for a period of five days from February 22 to 26, 2026, at the Workers Facilitation Centre, Dairy Farm, Sri Vijaya Puram. The camp is being conducted to facilitate registration of unorganised workers, small traders/shopkeepers and self-employed persons under the PM-SYM and NPS-Traders schemes.

All eligible unorganised workers, small traders/shopkeepers and self-employed persons have been requested to attend and register themselves at the above venue on the specified dates between 10 am and 4 pm for online enrolment and to avail the benefits of the schemes introduced by the Ministry of Labour & Employment.

Those who are unable to attend the camp during the scheduled dates may contact their nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) for enrolment under the above schemes.

Under the eligibility criteria, unorganised workers seeking enrolment under PM-SYM must have a monthly income up to ₹15,000 and should be between 18 and 40 years of age. They should not be covered under EPFO, ESIC or NPS and must not be income tax payers. In the case of small traders and shopkeepers under the NPS-Traders (PM-LVM) scheme, applicants must be between 18 and 40 years of age, should have an annual turnover up to ₹1.5 crore and must not be income tax payers.

Both schemes are voluntary and contributory pension schemes that provide a minimum assured pension of ₹3,000 per month after attaining 60 years of age. The schemes also provide for a 50 per cent family pension to the spouse after the death of the subscriber, along with an equal matching contribution by the Central Government.
