RGSA Training Held at Shyam Nagar to Strengthen Local Governance, Boost Youth-PRI Synergy

A training programme under the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) was organised at the Community Hall of Gram Panchayat, Shyam Nagar, Swaraj Deep, on Friday, focusing on strengthening grassroots governance and fostering youth participation in rural development.

The programme was conducted under the themes “Strengthening Local Governance: Training Elected Representatives on the Principles and Objectives of PRIs (Theme-8)” and “Fostering Synergies between Rural Youth and PRIs for Sustainable Community Development.”

The session commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Gurjeet Kaur, Block Development Officer (BDO), Prothrapur, who underscored the importance of empowering Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members to effectively discharge their constitutional responsibilities. She also highlighted the need to actively involve rural youth in local governance processes to ensure sustainable and inclusive community development.

A total of 70 participants, including PRI members, attended the programme. The resource person, Ma. Deepa Biswas, conducted an interactive session elaborating on the constitutional framework, objectives, roles, and responsibilities of PRIs. She also discussed practical strategies to enhance youth engagement in planning and implementation of development initiatives at the village level.

Participants took part in discussions and appreciated the practical insights and knowledge shared during the training.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Anila, Panchayat Secretary, Shyam Nagar.
