The Directorate of Art & Culture, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, will celebrate the festival of colours, Holi, with a ‘Phag’ programme at Andaman Club, Sri Vijaya Puram, on Monday, March 2, 2026. The event will commence at 6 pm, with the public invited to join from 5.30 pm onwards.

A key highlight of this year’s celebration will be a traditional culinary competition titled “Holi Ke Pakwan”, being organised in collaboration with PANKH-NGO. The competition aims to showcase and preserve the rich culinary heritage associated with Holi.

Participants have been invited to prepare and present authentic traditional sweets, snacks, and festive dishes that are commonly prepared during Holi across different regions and communities. The first three winners of the competition will be suitably rewarded.

Interested participants can register their names at the Office of the Directorate of Art & Culture, located on the first floor of the Administrative Block of the Cellular Jail Complex, or over phone with Mr. Rohit Raj at 9679581350 on or before February 28, 2026. Detailed guidelines will be provided at the time of registration.

The evening programme will feature traditional folk and devotional music performances, live Holi songs, and cultural presentations. There will also be display and tasting of traditional Holi delicacies, along with a festive atmosphere marked by colours, music, and community bonding.

The Directorate has extended a cordial invitation to the general public to take part in the celebrations, which aim to bring together the Islands’ diverse communities in the true spirit of Holi, spreading joy, harmony, and cultural richness.
