Fourth Tent Library Launched at GPS Attam Pahad to Promote Reading Among Students

Strengthening its innovative efforts to promote reading beyond conventional classrooms, the State Library under the Directorate of Education, Sri Vijaya Puram, launched its fourth Tent Library at Government Primary School (GPS), Attam Pahad on February 27, 2026.

The initiative aims to integrate reading into students’ daily experiences and make it both enjoyable and meaningful.

Inaugurating the Tent Library as the chief guest, Ms. Jothi, Vice-Principal of PM SHRI Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS), Garacharma, said such innovative initiatives play a vital role in nurturing curiosity and independent learning among children. She encouraged students to explore books beyond textbooks and develop reading as a lifelong habit.

The programme witnessed the participation of Ms. Vijaya Laxmi, Headmistress of GPS Attam Pahad, along with the In-charge of the State Library, students, teachers, librarians, and officials of the Education Department.

The Tent Library features a curated collection of storybooks and age-appropriate reading materials aimed at sparking imagination and creativity among young readers.
