The District Administration of South Andaman has removed fresh encroachments on Government land at Dudh Line Village in Sri Vijaya Puram Tehsil, reaffirming its commitment to protect public land and enforce the rule of law.

According to officials, the encroachments were detected during a recent inspection by the Revenue authorities. Two temporary structures and three fencing erected illegally on Government land were identified during the survey.

Acting promptly, the Revenue authorities conducted an eviction drive and removed the unauthorised structures, restoring nearly 2,000 square metres of revenue land to its original status. The operation was carried out in a lawful and orderly manner, officials said.

The District Administration reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards encroachments on Government land and warned that strict penal action will be taken against individuals or entities involved in illegal occupation of public property.

Authorities further cautioned that any attempt to circumvent legal procedures or abet encroachment activities would invite firm action under the relevant provisions of law.

The general public has been advised to strictly comply with legal provisions governing land use and ownership. Citizens have also been urged to remain vigilant and report any instances of encroachment or illegal occupation of Government land.

Information regarding such activities may be shared with the District Control Room through helpline numbers 03192-240127, 238881, or 1070, or via WhatsApp at 9531888844. The Administration has assured that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential and appropriate action will be taken on all genuine inputs received.
