COVID-19 Vaccination for Adolescents Aged 15-18 Years Begins in the Islands

COVID-19 Vaccination for those aged between 15 to18 years began in Andaman and Nicobar Islands today along with the rest of the country. The vaccination for teens has started at a time when many states are witnessing a surge in COVID-19 cases.

COVAXIN is being used to vaccinate the 15-18 years age group throughout the country. 

Andaman and Nicobar Island currently has 24 active cases of COVID-19. All the active cases of COVID-19 in the Islands have been reported in South Andaman District.

Nicobar District and North & Middle Andaman District at currently COVID-19 free.

Two cases of Omicron Variant of COVID-19 has been reported in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Total, 1700 cases of Omicron Variant of COVID-19 has been reported in the country so far out of which 639 patients have recovered/migrated.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands has achieved 100% vaccination of its eligible adult population.
