ACCI Requests Chief Secretary to Reopen Tourist Spots in the Islands

Andaman Chamber of Commerce and Industry on 19th January 2022 requested the Chief Secretary to open tourist spots in the Islands to support the ailing tourism industry.

In his letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the President, Andaman Chamber of Commerce and Industry informed that Andaman Nicobar Tour Operator Association and Tourism Association of Andaman and Nicobar comprising of Tourism Stakeholders/Tourist Cab Drivers/Boat Operators/Scuba Diving Association/Marina Life Boat Association/Fiber Boat Association/Tourist Guides and many others related to the Tourism Industry have got badly affected due to the sudden closure of the tourist spots.

ACCI in the letter has appreciated the COVID-19 containment measures of the Administration in the past as well as in the third wave.

ACCI has requested the Chief Secretary to consider reopening the tourism sector which they mentioned may provide oxygen to the ailing sector involving thousands of youth stakeholders.
