Electricity Department is implementing a 12-hour long load shedding at Kamorta & Adjoining Villages from today. The load shedding is being implemented because of a shortage of High-Speed Diesel.

The load shedding is being implemented from 5:00 Am to 5:00 Pm and will continue every day until a fresh supply of HSD is received at Kamorta.

Sources have informed that Albatross, a supply vessel, is carrying HSD for Kamorta, but it couldn’t reach the Island due to inclement weather.

Mr. Aslam Majid, First Captain, Kamorta while speaking to Nicobar Times informed that the general public is facing a lot of difficulties due to the 12-hour long power cut. Mr. Majid has requested the officers of A & N Administration to step in and resolve the situation.
