MP Suggests Addition of 100 Bedded Dormitory for Students in Proposed Plan for another Andaman Bhavan at Chennai

Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has extended his highest appreciation and gratitude to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands for considering constructing another guest house at Chennai. Mr. Sharma said that a new guest house at Chennai is the need of the hour as many Islanders go to Chennai for various purposes like treatment, study, social obligations etc.

Mr. Sharma during his recent meeting with the Hon’ble Lt. Governor suggested the construction of 04 Air Conditioned dormitories at the new proposed guest house to accommodate students during their transit. Mr. Sharma suggested that each dormitory should be able to accommodate 25 students thus creating a facility for accommodating 100 students (50 Male & 50 Females). 

Mr. Sharma explained to the Lt. Governor that a large number of students from the Islands study in the South Indian states and they are required to stay in Chennai during their transit to the place of their study or while returning to the Islands. Lt. Governor has reportedly directed the officials of the Directorate of Information & Publicity to take suggestions from the MP for inclusion in the final project. 

Mr. Sharma has sent his suggestion for the construction of Air Conditioned Dormitories for students in Chennai, as part of the new guest house project at Pallikarani, Chennai to the Directorate of Information & Publicity.
