Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has requested the Chief Secretary to provide three ships a week for Diglipur via Mayabunder until the NH4 is repaired and normal movement of vehicles are restored.
In a letter addressed to Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament informed that the condition of Andaman Trunk Road is very bad due to earthwork followed by rain.
MP also informed the CS that due to heavy rains some parts of ATR near Kalara Junction have become extremely dangerous and prone to accidents.
MP further added that due to the pathetic condition of roads private vehicles are not ready to travel up to Diglipur even at high rates. He also added that the general public is also avoiding driving on such roads because of which the demand for STS Bus Tickets has increased. He informed that not everyone is getting STS Bus Tickets.
