Jayanto Mallick a hardworking youth was murdered on the night of 29th June at Govind Nagar Village, Campbell Bay by his stepfather.
The murder was reportedly committed by strangulating the victim using a cloth. Reports also suggest that the victim was dragged with the cloth tied to his neck which led to severe strangulation and finally the death of the victim.
According to sources, the stepfather and son used to often fight on domestic issues.
FIR under relevant sections has been lodged at Police Station, Campbell Bay and the accused has been arrested. Post Mortem Examination of the deceased was conducted at PHC Campbell Bay today.
The body of the deceased was later handed over to the family for last rites.
The deceased has left behind his wife and a child.
Jayanto Mallick used to work as a driver for a local contractor.
