Port Blair Airport to Remain Closed for Runway Resurfacing Work on Select Days Between 18th October 2022 to 31st March 2023

The lone runway of Veer Savarkar International Airport will undergo Resurfacing Work between 18th of October 2022 and 31st March 2023. The runway of the airport will be unavailable for the landing of flights on select days.

The Airport at Port Blair is a dual-use airport used both for Civilian Aircraft Operations as well as for Defence Aircraft Operations. 

Andaman and Nicobar Command on 5th August 2022, announced through Twitter the dates when the runway will be closed. The closure of Runway has been planned in 4-Day Cycles. 

In October 2022, the runway will remain closed from 18th to 21st. In November 2022, the runway will remain closed from 1st to 4th, 15th to 18th and 29th to 2nd December. In December 2022, the runway will remain closed from 13th to 16th and 27th to 30th. In January 2023, the runway will remain closed from 10th to 13th and 24th to 27th. In February 2023, the runway will remain closed from 7th to 10th and 21st to 24th. In March 2023, the runway will remain closed from 7th to 10th and 21st to 24th.

On all other days (except for the dates mentioned above), flights will operate.
