Sports Authority of India is establishing a Training Centre at Modern Sports Complex, Lapathy, Car Nicobar and will be conducting the selection trials in the age group of 10 to 18 years for induction in the residential scheme. The selection trials will be conducted both at SAI STC Port Blair and SAI Training Centre, Modern Sports Complex, Lapathy, Car Nicobar for the following disciplines as per the given schedule:
(1) Athletics (15 Boys & 15 Girls) – 25th to 27th Oct from 9 Am at SAI STC, Port Blair Netaji Stadium & 3rd to 4th Nov from 9 Am at Modern Sports Complex, Lapathy, Car Nicobar.
(2) Football (30 Girls) – 25th to 27th Oct from 9 Am at SAI STC, Port Blair Netaji Stadium & 20th to 21st Oct from 9 Am at Modern Sports Complex, Lapathy, Car Nicobar.
(3) Cycling (20 Boys & 20 Girls) – 25th to 27th Oct from 9 Am at SAI STC, Port Blair Netaji Stadium & 3rd to 4th Nov from 9 Am at Modern Sports Complex, Lapathy, Car Nicobar.
(4) Weightlifting (10 Boys & 10 Girls) – 25th to 27th Oct from 9 Am at SAI STC, Port Blair Netaji Stadium & 3rd to 4th Nov from 9 Am at Modern Sports Complex, Lapathy, Car Nicobar.
Sportspersons preferably from Andaman and Nicobar Islands and who fulfil the criteria, are eligible for the selection trials. The selection will be based on age verification, medical fitness, skill tests of specific discipline, STC tests etc.
The following facilities are provided under SAI, STC Residential Scheme: Free Lodging, Free Boarding/Diet, Sports Kit, Competition Exposure, Educational Expenses, Medical and Insurance and Miscellaneous Expenses .
