Mr. J Boby, Chief Editor, of News Aap Tak has been instrumental in highlighting several illegal cases. He was the first one to report on the alleged Gang Rape of a 21 Year Old Island Girl by the Former Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the Labour Commissioner of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
He also recently highlighted several other illegal activities going on in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Mr. J Boby is originally a resident of Diglipur in North and Middle Andaman and also owns a Hotel and Bar there.
Recently, an accused in one case which was reported on News Aap Tak returned from District Jail, Prothrapur after he was granted bail by the Hon’ble Court. The accused called up Mr. J Boby and informed him that his murder is being planned in Jail.
The person also informed Mr. J Boby that something is being planned which is related to his Bar. The person during the phone conversation also mentioned the Press Conference where some harsh verbal exchanges had taken place between J Boby and the Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma.
The person later told Mr. J Boby that he will meet and explain the rest in person.
There have been several instances in Mainland India where Journalists have been attacked with the intent to kill. Several Journalists have also lost their lives due to their work.
Andaman and Nicobar Police should investigate the whole issue and take appropriate action against those planning to harm Mr. J Boby. Immediate Police Protection should also be extended to Mr. J Boby until the people planning his murder from inside the jail are identified and the police is certain that there is no further risk to his life.
