The Secretary (Registrar of Cooperative Society), A&N Administration, Mr. Rajesh Goyal and Director of Fisheries, Mr. Piyush Vijay Karan Singh visited Diglipur from 11th February 2023 to 13th February 2023. The officials during their visit interacted with the general public, members of Business Community and marine fishermen to discuss various issues related to cooperative societies, development of fisheries sector etc.
The Secretary, Registrar of Cooperative Society emphasised on development of fisheries sector through Cooperative Societies, in order to generate employment among weaker sections of the society. In a special interaction held at FLC Durgapur on 12th February 2023, the Secretary, RCS and Director of Fisheries appraised the stakeholders on importance of Cooperative Societies in bringing meaningful changes for the marine fishing community.
The Director of Fisheries directed the Officials of Fisheries Department to encourage and educate fisherman, fish farmers to avail the benefits of schemes like PMMSY, UT Schemes through Cooperative Societies. Other issues related to Fisheries Sector were also discussed during the meeting.
