Multiple sources have confirmed to Nicobar Times that Airtel will soon launch its 5G service in Port Blair and other areas of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Sources have further confirmed that Airtel has already started testing its 5G network in at least one area in Port Blair.
Airtel was the first mobile network to launch 4G service in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Sources have also informed that the 5G service will be launched in 10 sites initially and will be expanded to other sites.
Airtel on its website mentions that its 5G service will offer speeds 30x more faster than its 4G service.
Sources also confirmed that Reliance Jio will also launch its 5G service in the Islands by the end of this year.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that the launch of Airtel 5G service can be expected within a month in Port Blair and other areas.
