Mr. Vishal Jolly, National Executive Member, BJP & Former State President, BJP, A & N Islands recently met the Chief Secretary, A & N Administration and raised the following issues:
1. He raised the issue of granting of 1/30th pay to all existing DRMs, Muster Roll workers etc. working in all the Government Departments under A & N Administration.
2. He requested constitution of a high-level committee for regularisation of all the DRMs of APWD at the earliest considering the long pendency of the genuine issue.
3. He also urged the Chief Secretary to implement the order passed by the Hon’ble Calcutta High Court, Circuit Bench at Port Blair, with respect to the issue of appointment of 224 Primary School Teachers. He also pointed out that the students pursuing their school education in far flung Islands are suffering due to acute shortage of teachers. He mentioned that the appointments if made at this stage would unable the incumbents to get employed in the forthcoming academic year.
4. He also urged the Chief Secretary to publish & advertise all pending vacancies under A & N Administration, especially the vacancies of Teachers and other posts of Education Department in order to safeguard the future of school students of these islands.
5. Mr. Vishal Jolly further requested the Chief Secretary to pass necessary directions to the appropriate authorities to start procurement of COPRA for the benefit of farmers at the earliest.
The Chief Secretary, A & N Administration positively considered all the issues raised by Mr. Jolly and agreed to take positive and needful steps.
