Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has requested the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands for construction of a Dam/Weir over the Nimbu Bagicha Nallah, North Bay to solve the water crises issue in Bambooflat and adjoining areas.
Mr. Sharma in his letter informed the Lt. Governor that at Nimbu Bagicha, North Bay there is a perennial Nallah and the water from the Nallah flows into the sea without any effective use.
He mentioned that by constructing a dam/wear on the Nallah, the water can be tapped and used for augmenting the water supply in Bambooflat and nearby areas.
MP requested the LG to conduct a feasibility study and subsequently construct a dam/weir at a suitable location on the Nallah for effective use of the water.
