N & M Andaman Police Continues Strict Action Against Illicit Liquor and Ganja

Continuing the crackdown on illicit ganja, illicit liquor, handia, & illegal sale of IMFL, the District Police of North & Middle Andaman with the help of local informers conducted regular raids and searches in jungles. During the month of March-2023, the teams of various Police Stations headed by SHOs and Sub-Inspectors conducted raids & massive jungle search operations. In the Jungle searches, around 900 litres of lehan & 33 litres of illicit liquor was destroyed. 126 Nos. IMFL bottles of different quantities were also seized. 18 cases were registered under Excise Regulation and the accused were arrested. All the History Sheeters are being regularly checked by the beat staff, making it hard for them to be involved in any illegal activity. Fresh history sheet of bootleggers has opened for surveillance.

District Police has been able to arrest 04 persons in 03 different cases of NDPS Act. Those arrested were involved in illicit ganja trade and 5.500 Kgs of illicit Ganja was seized from them.

The general public has been requested to pass and share any credible information pertaining to any crime or illegal activities to their nearest Police Station or over phone No.100, 112 & 03192-273344. Police informed that the identity of the informers will be kept secret and they will also be suitably rewarded.
