On 11th June 2023, the bye-elections for multiple positions, including Gram Panchayat Member, Panchayat Samiti Member, and Gram Panchayat Pradhan, were successfully conducted in various constituencies. The elections took place from 8 AM to 4 PM and were characterized by a transparent and fair process.
Following the conclusion of voting, the polled materials have been securely stored in designated strong rooms located within the respective Police Stations. This ensures the integrity and safety of the ballots until the counting process begins.
The polled percentages for each constituency are as follows:
– Gram Panchayat Member Constituency: Swadeshnagar-1 of Swadeshnagar Gram Panchayat, under Mayabunder Tehsil (Seat Reserved for Women) – 62.17%
– Gram Panchayat Samiti Member Constituency: Mayabunder, under Mayabunder Tehsil (Seat Reserved for Women) – 49.02%
– Gram Panchayat Member Constituency: Rangat-8 of Rangat Gram Panchayat, under Rangat Tehsil (General Seat) – 59.64%
– Gram Panchayat Pradhan Constituency: Bindraban, under Ferrargunj Tehsil (Seat Reserved for Women) – 69.46%
The counting of votes for the aforementioned positions is scheduled to take place on June 13, 2023, starting from 8 AM. The counting will occur at the respective Counting Centres assigned for each constituency.
This bye-election holds significant importance in determining the representatives who will serve in various capacities within the Gram Panchayat and Panchayat Samiti, representing the aspirations and interests of their respective constituencies.
