Bambooflat Police Bust Interstate Narcotics Smuggling Module; Three Arrested, Significant Quantity of Ganja Seized

In a major breakthrough, the Bamboo Flat Police successfully dismantled an interstate narcotics smuggling module operating in the Islands. Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Mr Arshdeep Singh Panwar (DANIPS), SDPO Bambooflat, apprehended a key suspect, Jaydab Sardar, resident of Wright Myo, a permanent resident of Kaliani/Khedapara in Purana Bangaon, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, on June 3, 2023.

During the operation, the police recovered a substantial quantity of 1.850 kilograms of ganja from Sardar’s possession. Further investigations unveiled that Sardar had purchased the contraband from an individual named Bikash Mondal. Following comprehensive technical and physical investigations, the police arrested Mondal on June 6, 2023. They seized an additional 4.540 kilograms of ganja from his possession.

The investigations also revealed that Mondal had acquired the contraband from the alleged kingpin, Sushanto Mondal, residing in Kaliani/Khedapara, Purana Bangaon, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal. A dedicated team was dispatched to West Bengal, which successfully apprehended Sushanto Mondal on June 12, 2023. He was subsequently brought to Port Blair on June 13, 2023.

The meticulously executed operation was carried out by a team comprising Inspector K. Abdul Nasir, SHO of PS Bambooflat, SI Ranga Swamy, in charge of OP Wimberly Gunj, SI Mohd. Rafique and SI K.V. Abdul Salam of PS Bambooflat and Ograbraj respectively, along with several other police personnel from different police stations and outposts. The team operated under the supervision of Mr Arshdeep Singh Panwar (DANIPS), SDPO Bambooflat, and the overall guidance of Mr Kalaivanan R, IPS, SP District South Andaman.
