In a remarkable display of diligence and coordination, the PS Pahargaon team succeeded in arresting a murder accused linked to the brutal killing of a 38-year-old woman in the Bathubasti area on August 1, 2023. The prompt response and swift action of the police led to the apprehension of the suspect within a record time of three hours.
The incident unfolded at approximately 1800 Hrs on August 1, 2023, when PS Pahargaon received information about a murder at a residence near Kannan Driving School in Bathubasti. Upon arrival at the scene, the police discovered the lifeless body of a woman in her late 30s lying in the kitchen of a rented house belonging to Nabo Kumar Dhar, a 32-year-old individual hailing from West Bengal. The victim’s family had brought Nabo Kumar Dhar to work in their parlour.
Without delay, the police registered a case, FIR No. 126/23 dated 1.08.2023, under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at PS Pahargaon. In response to the heinous crime, a specialised team was swiftly constituted under the leadership of Inspector Mariam to track down and apprehend the accused.
Following thorough investigation and gathering crucial leads, the police team learned that the suspect had fled to Rangat in a pick-up van. They immediately relayed this vital information to PS Rangat. Collaborative efforts from both PS Pahargaon and PS Rangat, overseen by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SA) Mr. Sunny Gupta IPS, resulted in the successful capture of Nabo Kumar Dhar within an astonishingly short period of three hours. The PS Pahargaon team later arrested him.
