In yet another display of unwavering commitment to curbing illicit activities within their jurisdiction, the Diglipur Police Station has struck a significant blow against drug peddlers. Acting swiftly on a credible tip-off, a dedicated team led by Inspector K. Binoj, the Station House Officer (SHO) of PS Diglipur, launched a targeted operation resulting in the apprehension of a notorious individual involved in the illegal drug trade.
The operation led to the capture of Ram Krishna Poddar, aged 47, and a resident of Madhupur, Ward No.5, Diglipur. During the operation, law enforcement officers confiscated a substantial haul of 1.210 kilograms of illicit ganja from Poddar’s possession, along with a substantial sum of cash amounting to Rs. 5,91,800/-.
Further investigation and interrogation efforts led to the arrest of another individual, Kiran Mistry, also known as Abdul, aged 56, who is a Chicken Shop Keeper residing in Ward No.07. Mistry was found to be in possession of 48 grams of illicit ganja. Both accused individuals have had cases filed against them under the appropriate sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The success of this operation is a testament to the dedication and relentless efforts of the Diglipur Police Station’s raiding team. It serves as a clear message that illegal activities, especially drug trafficking, will not be tolerated, and law enforcement agencies will continue to take strong action against those involved.
The entire operation was carried out under the vigilant supervision of Shri Brij Mohan Meena, DANIPS, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Diglipur, with overall guidance and oversight by Ms. Niharika Bhatt, IPS, the Superintendent of Police for North & Middle Andaman District.

They maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy towards organized crime and urge the public to report any credible information related to criminal or illegal activities to their nearest police station or through emergency phone lines at No.100, 112, and 03192-273344. The identities of informers will be kept confidential, and rewards will be provided as appropriate.
