In a momentous milestone for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mrs. Anila Sanjay has been elevated to the esteemed position of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP), becoming the first woman officer from the islands to achieve this significant rank.
Mrs. Anila Sanjay began her career in the Andaman and Nicobar Police force on March 10, 1988, when she assumed the role of Sub Inspector. Through dedication, commitment, and exemplary service, she steadily ascended the ranks, being promoted to the rank of Inspector on March 9, 2006. Her journey has been marked by numerous achievements, and notably, she was also the first woman to join the Andaman and Nicobar Police as a Sub-Inspector, blazing a trail for future generations of female officers.
The announcement of her promotion to the rank of DySP was met with congratulatory messages from across the islands and beyond. The Director General of Police (DGP) for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands conveyed his warm wishes to Dy.SP Anila Sanjay. In a tweet posted on X (formerly Twitter), the DGP wrote, “Heartiest Congratulations to Mrs. Anila Sanjay as she embarks on a new journey as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP).
