In a proactive move to ensure food security for its residents, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands administration has announced the distribution of Public Distribution System (PDS) food grains for September and October 2023 in advance. This initiative aims to streamline the distribution process and provide convenience to eligible beneficiaries throughout the Union Territory.
All eligible PDS beneficiaries are set to receive their quota of PDS food grains for both September and October 2023 in a single distribution during the month of September 2023. This approach simplifies the process for residents and ensures timely access to essential food items.
Ration card holders have been duly notified about this arrangement, granting them the opportunity to purchase their entitled food grains for two months consecutively, from September 1, 2023, to October 31, 2023.
It’s important to note that those Ration Card holders who may face challenges in purchasing their ration during the month of September 2023 will have the flexibility to procure their food grains in October 2023, ensuring that no eligible beneficiaries are left without their essential food supplies.
