Nicobar District’s Decision Still Unclear
Port Blair, 06 Dec 2020
The District Administration of South Andaman has decided to slash the price for testing of passengers for COVID-19 through Rapid Antigen Test/RTPCR from Rs. 500/- earlier to Rs. 200/- from 7th of December 2020.
The District Administration has taken this decision considering the decrease in number of COVID-19 positive cases, as well as to make testing affordable for everyone.
The passengers arriving from mainland by flights will however be charged Rs. 500/- upon arrival for testing. The passengers and attenders who have arrived from mainland after treatment will be exempted from paying any charges for COVID-19 test.
The validity of the tests has been set to three days and the District Administration has sought the cooperation of the general public in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
North & Middle Andaman District Administration through its official twitter handle also announced a similar decision. The decision of the District Administration, Nicobar regarding reducing the cost of COVID-19 RAT/RTPCR tests for passengers is still unknown.
This move of reducing the cost of COVID-19 tests will directly benefit the general public.
Nobody cares of people’s comfort. Just blocking the facilities and enjoying themselves.
