South Andaman District Planning Committee Meeting Scheduled from 16th October to 18th October 2023

The South Andaman District Planning Committee (DPC) meeting (including revenue areas of Great Nicobar Island) is set to convene under the Chairmanship of Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman. The event is scheduled to take place from October 16 to 18, 2023, at the Conference Hall of Zilla Parishad, South Andaman. The primary agenda for the gathering is the discussion of the Draft Action Plan for the years 2023-24 to 2025-26.

The DPC meeting will be attended by a range of stakeholders, including District Planning Committee Members, Special Invitees, and Commissioner-cum-Secretaries/Secretaries/Heads of Departments (HODs) from various Plan Implementing Departments under the Andaman and Nicobar Administration. They will come together to deliberate on the proposals formulated by Government Departments under the A&N Administration, Panchayati Raj Institutions, and Urban Local Bodies in the South Andaman District.

The meeting schedule is as follows:

October 16: On this day, the DPC meeting will be focused on several key departments, including Agriculture, Health, Industries, Tribal Welfare, District Administration, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Education, JNRM, ANCOL, DBRAIT, Tagore College, Sports & Youth Affairs, and Social Welfare.

October 17: The agenda for October 17 is dedicated to departments such as Environment & Forest, Science & Technology, Disaster Management, Labour, Employment & Training, Fisheries, Civil Supply, Electricity, RCS, Art & Culture, Information, Publicity & Tourism, and the Government Press.

October 18: The DPC meeting on October 18 will address several other crucial departments, including APWD, Shipping, Statistics, PBMC, RD, PRIs & ULBs, Police, Judiciary, District Jail, Port Management Board, Pay & Accounts, Civil Aviation, and Transport.

This three-day gathering is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the development trajectory of South Andaman District for the coming three years. It provides a platform for stakeholders to assess and deliberate on the action plan proposals, fostering cooperation and coordinated planning among the various departments and institutions within the district.
