In an effort to combat corruption and promote integrity, the Vigilance Awareness Week observance commenced in the Andaman and Nicobar (A&N) Islands on October 30, 2023, under the theme ‘Say no to Corruption; Commit to the Nation’. The observance was marked by a pledge-taking ceremony led by the Chief Secretary of the A&N Administration, Mr. Keshav Chandra, IAS.
The week-long campaign, which focuses on eradicating corruption and fostering a commitment to the nation, saw the participation of officers and staff from various government departments under the A&N Administration.
The Chief Secretary, Mr. Keshav Chandra, IAS, administered the ‘Integrity Pledge’ to the officers and staff of the Secretariat. This pledge underscores the importance of maintaining high moral and ethical standards while discharging official duties.
Furthermore, the ‘Integrity Pledge’ was also administered to officers and staff various departments under the A&N Administration. This collective effort aimed to reinforce the commitment to fight corruption at all levels.
Vigilance Awareness Week is observed annually throughout India to promote transparency and good governance. It serves as a reminder of the vital role each individual plays in upholding the principles of honesty and integrity, ensuring that public resources are utilised for the betterment of society.
