The enchanting Andaman and Nicobar Islands are all set to come alive with the Island Tourism Festival, scheduled to take place from the 26th to the 30th of December, 2023. Organized by the Department of Art & Culture, A&N Administration in collaboration with the Department of IP&T, this eagerly awaited event promises a five-day cultural extravaganza that will showcase the rich cultural heritage and diverse traditions of the archipelago.

The festival will see a myriad of cultural programs held at various venues both in and around Port Blair, as well as in picturesque inter-island locations in the South Andaman, North & Middle Andaman districts. Among the notable locations for these festivities are Marina Park, Corbyn’s Cove, Amphitheater, Wandoor, Wimberlygunj, Ferrargunj, Baratang, Rangat, Mayabunder, Diglipur, Swaraj Dweep, Shaheed Dweep, Long Island, and Little Andaman/Hut Bay.

To ensure a vibrant and diverse program lineup, the Department of Art & Culture has invited local registered Cultural Organizations to participate. These organizations are encouraged to submit details of their proposed programs for consideration. In order to provide a wide range of options for the Program Selection Committee, participating Cultural Organizations are expected to prepare a minimum of three or more programs.

As part of the application process, interested Cultural Organizations can obtain the prescribed format from the Directorate of Art & Culture located at the Cellular Jail Complex, Atlanta Point. Alternatively, they can download the form from the official website of the A&N Administration at https://www.andaman.gov.in/. The completed application forms can be submitted in person at the Directorate of Art & Culture or via email at thedirectorculture@gmail.com, with the deadline for submissions set for November 15, 2023.
