In a proactive move against illegal narcotics, the diligent team at PS Billiground, led by SI M V Shiju Kumar and SHO PS Billiground, orchestrated a significant operation resulting in the seizure of 552 grams of illicit Ganja. The successful mission also led to the apprehension of the accused, identified as Jhantu Adhikari, a resident of Harinagar.
Acting on credible intelligence received on 14/11/2023, the team swiftly moved and cornered the accused in front of his residence. Upon search and investigation, the team discovered 552 grams of illegal Ganja in the possession of the alleged perpetrator, promptly leading to his arrest. This operation showcases the unwavering dedication of the Billiground Police in combatting the illicit narcotics trade within the community.
The arrest of Adhikari underscores the relentless efforts of law enforcement agencies in ensuring public safety and upholding the rule of law. This aligns with the overarching mission of the North & Middle Andaman Police to eradicate the scourge of illicit substances from the community.
Emphasising a zero-tolerance stance on illegal activities, authorities have affirmed that the accused will face the full brunt of the law and be prosecuted under the stringent NDPS Act.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Mr. Chandra Prakash Meena, DANIPS, SDPO Rangat, and under the overall direction and supervision of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, North & Middle Andaman District.
