In a relentless pursuit against drug-related activities, the Diglipur Police Station once again exhibited its unwavering determination by making a significant breakthrough in combating drug peddling within its jurisdiction.
In a meticulously planned operation on November 14th, a vigilant team led by Inspector K. Binoj, the Station House Officer of Diglipur Police Station, along with Head Constable Santosh Kr. Nair and constables Abubacker Siddique, Devsai Toppo, Radhesham Hawlader, Soma Dey, Mirthunjoy Das, and Ct Pawan Singh, acted upon actionable intelligence. The team, supported by independent witnesses, discreetly positioned themselves near Mourice Tikrey.
Their patience paid off when a suspected motorcycle carrying a rider and a pillion passenger was spotted heading towards Mourice Tikrey. Swiftly intercepting the motorcycle, the team conducted a thorough search of both individuals. The search yielded a seizure of 1.105 kilograms of illicit ganja from their possession. The accused individuals, identified as Bibash Mondal (18) and Sushankar Das (23), residents of Laxmipur, Diglipur, were promptly arrested. A case was registered against them under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act.
During the interrogation, the arrested individuals disclosed obtaining the illegal substance from Pradeep Kumar Biswas, a resident of Harinagar, Billiground. Acting promptly, the police team proceeded to Billiground, apprehended Pradeep Kumar Biswas, aged 23, and seized an additional 390 grams of ganja from his possession. He was also taken into custody and brought to PS Diglipur for further legal procedures.
The entire operation was conducted under the supervision of Mr. Brij Mohan Meena, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur, with overarching guidance from Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, North & Middle Andaman District.
