Police Constable 1116 C. Alok Ram of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Police Department has been honoured for his outstanding role in the successful implementation of the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) & Interoperable Criminal Justice System (ICJS). Recognising his significant contribution, Ram received the prestigious award in the individual officer’s category, under category ‘C’ (States/UTs having less than 50 Police Stations) at the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) during the 5th Conference on Good Practices in CCTNS/ICJS held at NCRB, New Delhi on 22/12/2023.
A journey that commenced in 2012 as a Police Constable has culminated in this recognition for Ram. His pivotal role emerged in 2016 when he was appointed to the CCTNS Cell. Over nearly seven dedicated years, Ram diligently tackled technical challenges within the CCTNS project, specifically addressing and resolving network connectivity issues across all Police Stations in the A&N Islands.
His persistent efforts and coordinated approach with various departments ensured stable and reliable network connectivity at every Police Station. This accomplishment facilitated seamless access to CCTNS data, significantly enhancing the utility and effectiveness of the digital police platform.
This acknowledgment arrives at a time when the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have achieved notable milestones in the realm of CCTNS. Securing the top position twice this year among Union Territories on the CCTNS PRAGATI Dashboard stands as a testament to the relentless dedication and hard work of personnel like PC/1116 C. Alok Ram.
The Director General of Police, Mr. Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, extended his warm congratulations and commendation to Ram for his exceptional service and for bringing this prestigious award to the A&N Police Department.
