In adherence to the directives issued by the District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner of Nicobar district, the District Child Protection Unit, Nicobar, is set to organise Special Adoption Facilitation Camps in various Islands of Nicobar District. The initiative aims to assist Prospective Adoption Parents (PAPs) in registering on the designated portal in accordance with the Juvenile Justice Act (Care & Protection) Amendment Act 2021 and Adoption Regulation Rules 2022.
The adoption camp is scheduled to take place at various locations across the Campbell Bay & Nancowry Group of Islands, offering opportunities for interested couples and PAPs to understand and register for the adoption process. The camp will span several days, providing ample time for participants to register and submit necessary documents.
The camp itinerary is as follows:
SRO Office, Katchal: January 14 to 16, 2024, from 9:30 am to 3 pm
AC Office, Campbell Bay: January 19 to 22, 2024, from 9:30 am to 3 pm
AC Office, Kamorta: January 25 to 27, 2024, from 9:30 am to 3 pm
Prospective Adoptive Parents are encouraged to approach the dedicated team during the specified time slots, bringing along the requisite documents for the adoption of a child. This initiative aims to streamline the adoption process and ensure compliance with the latest legal requirements related to child welfare.
