Two New Police Stations Inaugurated – Cyber Crime Police Station and Anti-Narcotics Police Station

In a momentous stride towards fortifying its law enforcement capabilities, the Andaman and Nicobar Police inaugurated two groundbreaking Police Stations, namely the “Cyber Crime Police Station” and the “Anti-Narcotics Police Station.” The inauguration ceremony, held on January 19, 2024, was graced by Admiral D. K. Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), the Honourable Lieutenant Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Vice-Chairman of the Islands Development Agency.

The newly established Cyber Crime Police Station is poised to address the escalating challenges presented by cyber threats in the digital age. Outfitted with cutting-edge technology and a highly skilled team of experts, the station is dedicated to investigating and preventing cybercrimes, ensuring the security of citizens in the virtual realm.

Simultaneously, the inauguration of the Anti-Narcotics Police Station underscores the police force’s commitment to eradicating the menace of drugs from the community. This specialised unit will employ advanced strategies to identify, track, and apprehend individuals involved in drug-related activities, contributing to a safer and healthier environment for all the islands.

Both Police Stations will operate from the CID Complex in Aberdeen Bazaar, Port Blair, and are expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing the overall security landscape of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
