In anticipation of the upcoming General Election to Lok Sabha -2024, the 14th National Voters’ Day is poised to be celebrated with fervour across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on January 25, 2024. The Election Commission has announced the national theme for this year as ‘Nothing Like Voting, I Vote For Sure.’

The celebratory events are scheduled to unfold at the State, District, and Booth levels, aligning with the nationwide observance. The primary objective is to maximise voter enrolment and foster awareness leading up to the imminent elections in the Union Territory.

Under the theme ‘Nothing Like Voting, I Vote For Sure,’ a comprehensive range of activities is planned to engage various segments of society. Special attention will be given to women, youths, Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), senior citizens, service voters, and other marginalised sections.

The State’s Election Commission is launching a massive program under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative, the flagship program of the Election Commission. This initiative aims to create heightened awareness among eligible voters, emphasising the importance of active participation in the democratic process.

A heartfelt appeal is extended to all eligible voters, with a special emphasis on the youth who have recently turned 18, women, and physically challenged voters, urging them to exercise their democratic right by casting their votes. To ensure that voters are well-informed, the Election Commission recommends checking voter registration details using the dedicated Helpline No. 1950 or by visiting the Election Commission of India’s web portal at www.nvsp.in.
